Workspace Design - HEII

‘Heii’ in Japanese refers to simplicity in design & language, emphasising on clarity & straightforwardness; much like our clients and the design concept for their workspace.

A workspace located in Lower Parel- a commercial & hospitality hub of Mumbai.

The client’s requirement was a simple design housing a large cabin, a small cabin, workstations, a large pantry & a storage space.

Our vision was to create a functional layout along with simple visual aesthetics through clean lines & uncluttered spaces, a neutral colour palette, a limited yet cohesive material palette.

We used elements to highlight the space like- muted coloured paintings, coloured cement hanging lights and fabrics in pastel shades. A shade of grey was used through paints & laminates to create a border above the lintel level in the reception and open workstation areas. Due to the lack of natural light in the office, we utilised the central passage to create a skylight effect through a large panel light and used the flooring tiles in a mosaic pattern to subtly highlight the area while adding a sense of an outdoorsy feel to this transition space.

The office pantry which doubles up as a cloud kitchen for a baking business was coloured in a muted shade of greyish green including the counter, backsplash, paint, laminates for storages & the door.

The final outcome was a minimal, contemporary design which is easy on the eyes making the workspace ideal for focus and productivity.
